Moncler Genius 2020 introduces a new designer into the mix
Ever since the first Moncler Genius project, the luxury brand has revolutionised the way of releasing new (and exciting) products. Moncler's monthly drops of merchandise, done in the artistic vision of a different designer each month, has never really been done before by a brand of such stature.
But now that Moncler is continuing the concept, freshness comes in the form of new collaborators adding their own design aesthetics to Moncler's well-loved down jackets.
For the 2020 edition of Moncler Genius, we will see the return of the project's founding collaborators such as Simone Rocha, Craig Green, and Hiroshi Fujiwara of Fragment. Richard Quinn's penchant for bold prints, and Poldo Dog Couture's pup-friendly designs will also continue on for 2020, together with Moncler's own 2 Moncler 1952 and 3 Moncler Grenoble. What won't be in the upcoming roster will be Pierpaolo Piccioli of Valentino, whose couture-level designs have created some of the most divine collaborations since the beginning of Moncler Genius.
There's still much to be excited about for Moncler Genius 2020. Jonathan Anderson—of Loewe and his own label JW Anderson—will debut a collection that explores the blurring of masculinity and femininity through melding different elements of menswear and womenswear. And if you're already a fan of Anderson's collaborations with brands the likes of Converse and Uniqlo, this is definitely one to keep your eyes (and wallet) out for.
In addition to the fashion-focused collaborations, Moncler Genius 2020 will also unveil a new travel concept with RIMOWA, as well as an electrical bike with MATE.BIKE.
We're sure there are more details to come once the collections make their media debut during Milan Fashion Week in February. In any case, Moncler Genius 2020 is poised to be the most exciting one yet.
