Back to the Future's DeLorean might be making a comeback
Scientist Doc Brown's famous DeLorean might be hitting the streets very soon in its new, revamped avatar. Made famous by Back to the Future in 1985, the DeLorean DMC-12 is one of the most iconic film cars of all time. Now, it seems the car could be poised for a comeback.
While the car was only produced from 1981 and 1983, with little more than 9,000 models made. And despite the car being a commercial flop at first, its cult-film status means the cars now sell for more than US $30,000. Vice president of DMC James Espey recently confirmed that plans are in initial stages to prepare for a limited production run of a next-gen DeLorean.
While the car will be mostly unchanged from the original, there will be a few additional features like power steering, cruise control, and 21st-century headlights.
Long story short, recently, the Low Volume Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Act was passed by the US Congress in 2021, which means the famous car could make a return to the streets in 2021.
