Mo Salah is getting his very own Madame Tussauds wax statue
The Arab world's biggest football export till date, 27-year-old Mo Salah is about to add another accolade to his already long list of honours. The Egypt and Liverpool forward is about to get his very own wax figure at the famous Madame Tussauds museum in London.
The 'Egyptian King' Salah shared the news with his 11.2 million followers on Twitter with images from his measurement session at the London museum.
After news of the wax statue went public, Salah said: "I am so excited to be working with the artists of Madame Tussauds on my first ever figure."
However, Madame Tussads decision to immortalise Salah in wax doesn't come as a surprise. Salah single-handedly fired Egypt into the 2018 World Cup in Russia, and has recieved the Premier League Player of the Season and African Footballer of the Year awards in the last few years.
And the general manager of the museum Steve Davies added: "We're kicking off 2020 with this announcement which is sure to be a crowd-pleaser for football lovers around the world. As Egyptian Forward and currently both European and World Club Champion with Liverpool FC, Mo Salah is a global star at the peak of his power. We know that fans will love seeing him at the home of celebrity, where he rightly belongs."
The Egyptian is the first Liverpool player since Steven Gerrard to get his own wax statue.
