Calm down, Dubai is safe to visit
A glance at the international papers this week and you'll see headlines like "Get out of Dubai", "WW3: Is Dubai safe as Iran tensions rocket?" and "British tourists warned over visiting Turkey and Dubai" screaming out at you. But that couldn't be any further from the truth.
Expats living in Dubai have been going about their days as they normally would. We're not cowering under bunkers, or counting the dollars in our bank accounts or even struggling to book the next flight home. We're going on our daily runs, dropping our kids to school, driving to work and then enjoying a cool winter's day oblivious to the apparent terrors of our international friends.
But the clickbait headlines reached such a furore that even the Dubai government had to step in to rubbish all these claims.
Dubai government vehemently denied the rumour circulating on social media that Dubai was not a safe place to visit following purported threats from Iran.
The Dubai Media Office stressed in a tweet that Dubai continues to provide "a secure environment for residents and guests from every corner of the globe".
It added in another tweet that "rumours being circulated regarding security threats targeting Dubai are fake and haven’t been issued from any official source in the Iranian Government".
"We urge everyone to refrain from circulating fake news and spreading rumours."

Considering that Dubai was recently ranked the best city in the Middle East and North Africa, according to a new study and the fact that the emirate placed sixth in the world’s top 10 cities, it's safe to say that it's all good in the hood. So if you're in Dubai as a tourist, make the most of the sun, beach and culture Dubai has to offer.
