Ryan Reynolds' Hitman's Bodyguard 2 gets August 2020 release date
The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard has revealed its release date.
The sequel stars Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L Jackson, who both appeared in the original 2017 action-comedy The Hitman's Bodyguard, and is scheduled to land in cinemas on August 28, 2020.
Salma Hayek and Richard E Grant are also set to reprise their roles from the original, while franchise newbies Frank Grillo, Morgan Freeman and Antonio Banderas round out the cast.
Screenwriter Tom O'Connor and director Patrick Hughes are said to be back on board, too.
Last year, it was reported that posters advertising the movie at Cannes Film Festival featured the tagline: "The Good, The Bad and The Batshit Cray." Sign us up.
Despite the first outing receiving mixed reviews, it went down significantly better with audiences, making $177 million (£135.6m) from a $30 million budget.
The Hitman's Bodyguard follows Michael Bryce (Reynolds), a former elite escort who fell from grace when one of his clients was killed.
Two years later, he's tasked with protecting infamous hitman Darius Kincaid (Jackson), after he agrees to testify against a ruthless crime lord in exchange for his wife's (Hayek) release from prison.
