Apple announces the most powerful MacBook ever
Apple is appealing to content creators with a new 16-inch MacBook Pro that is the company’s most powerful yet.
The new MacBook Pro packs an 8-core processor, 64GB of memory, 8GB of VRAM, and an AMD Radeon Pro 5000M graphics card.
All that tech sits alongside a 3072x1920 Retina display, which Apple boasts as being its biggest ever.
The 9th generation processor comes with 5.0GHz Turbo Boost Speeds and 64GB of memory, which – according to Apple - “delivers blazing-fast performance”. According to Apple, the new MacBook Pro is twice the speed of the previous quad-core 15-inch MacBook Pro.
Compared to the previous model, the new MacBook Pro should give video editors, gamers and developers much faster performance across its software.
The company has also dropped the problematic butterfly keys, in favour of another system that should provide similar tactile feedback without breaking as easily.
Also – for the first time ever – the MacBook can be customized with 8TB of storage.
The most basic version of the laptop costs US$2,400 – while the most expensive comes in at US$6,600. All versions are available right now from apple.com.
