Ricky Gervais to host his 5th Golden Globes in January 2020

Ricky Gervais will once again tease and taunt celebrities in his own trademark manner in January, as host of the annual Golden Globes.
The Golden Globes are seen by many as an important factor in Oscar success.
Gervais has made a name for himself for his no-hold’s barred approach to celebrity jokes, which has won him both praise and criticism over the years.
"Once again, they've made me an offer I can't refuse. But this is the very last time I'm doing this, which could make for a fun evening," Gervais said in a statement.
The president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, Lorenzo Soria, said that with Gervais’ return “audiences should expect the unexpected”.
Gervais hosted the Golden Globes three years in a row from 2010-2012, and then returned in 2016. His most recent performance last year saw him take on Caitlyn Jenner and Roman Polanski.
The 77th annual Golden Globe ceremony will take lace on January 5. 25 awards will be handed out over the three-hour broadcast.
