Former Fugees star Lauryn Hill will open Dubai Jazz Festival
Former Fugees singing sensation Lauryn Hill will headline the opening night of the Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival.
Fans of the 44-year-old can look forward to hits from her award-winning debut album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, including Doo Wop (That Thing), Ex-Factor and Everything is Everything.
The album went straight in at number one on the US Billboard 200, where it has sold around eight million copies.
Multi-Grammy award-winning Hill will be supported by leading British singer-songwriter and guitarist Bruno Major on February 26.
Major’s debut album A Song for Every Moon was released in 2017. He has previously opened for Sam Smith on a UK arena tour in 2018.
Tickets for the event, which is presented by Mastercard, will go on sale on Wednesday.
Last year’s festival saw ’80s rock heroes Duran Duran, Jamiroquai and Alicia Keys take to the stage in Dubai Media City Amphitheatre, featuring support from some outstanding global and local artists, including local three-piece indie outfit Vandalye.
