Michael Jordan: Steph Curry is not a hall of famer yet
Michael Jordan, one of the world's best known basketballers and the guy who won six-titles with the Chicago Bulls is all praise for Golden State Warriors star player Stephen Curry.
But, in an interview with NBC's Today show when asked who he would pick for his personal team, he responded by naming four friends and current Hall-of-Famers.
When asked if Steph Curry should be offended for not being included, he said: "He's still a great player. Not a Hall of Famer yet, though. He's not."
Here is the full clip. Jordan is asked to pick 4 players to ball with. He picks 4 Hall of Famers he trusts. He then says Steph Curry shouldn’t be offended by not being picked cause he’s still a great player. He then states a fact “he’s not a hall of famer yet” pic.twitter.com/RmgxUUJxv4— Jol (@WeAreJoel) October 22, 2019
This quote picked up by sports websites world over has become a bit of a debate on social media with both Jordan and Curry's fans rushing to defend them.
Agree or disagree with Michael Jordan, he’s right: Steph Curry is not a Hall of Famer and won’t be until three years after his playing career is over.— Tom Westerholm (@Tom_NBA) October 22, 2019
Michael Jordan said Curry is a great player but not a hall of famer yet.
I have to disagree. 3 NBA titles, 2 MVP’s, 6 time all-star, 6 All-NBA selections, 3 NBA first team selections, and All-Rookie first team.

Michael Jordan’s standard for the HOF seems to be: “Well, he wasn’t as good as me.” And you know what? I sort of love it.— Mike Greenberg (@Espngreeny) October 22, 2019
Kerr on MJ’s HOF comments about Steph Curry: “I think Michael has his own version of the Hall of Fame. It’s in his own head — so whatever that is, that’s what it is.”— Nick Friedell (@NickFriedell) October 22, 2019
Magic Johnson, the Hall of Famer and former Los Angeles Lakers executive, tweeted out his thoughts on why Jordan's statement.
Everyone relax. We know Steph Curry is a future Hall of Famer...Michael Jordan couldn’t say it because he would get fined by the league.— Earvin Magic Johnson (@MagicJohnson) October 22, 2019
