The Joker will beat Deadpool as top-grossing R-rated film

The Joker is laughing all the way to the bank.
The Todd Phillips directed film is well on its way to become the highest-grossing r-rated film of all time.
Deadpool – starring Ryan Reynolds – is the current record holder (it made US$738 million worldwide), while Deadpool 2’s earnings were around US$738 million.
As of yesterday, The Joker had taken US$737.5 million (after just three weeks).
The Joker is expected to tally more than US$900 million globally (and some have speculated it might even go on to crack the US$1 billion mark).
In terms of other R-Rated films that have made it big (and adjusted for inflation), The Matrix Reloaded took around US$738 million in 2003. It raked in US$697 million.
