Tesla truck prototype spotted outside of Pixar headquarters
An incredibly rare Tesla semi-truck prototype has been spotted on Pixar’s headquarters, along with several other electric vehicles.
The Tesla Semi was unveiled back in 2017, when Elon Musk said it would have a 300-mile and 500-mile range capacity. The truck was then delayed, for reasons that insiders speculate having to do with increasing that range.
Tesla has been testing two prototype trucks, and both have been spotted around the US participating in long-distance travel tests.
Tesla brought its Semi prototype to Pixar headquarters in California, where it was spotted sitting alongside a Tesla Model S and a BMW i3. Another rare car – including the Drako GTE all-eletric supercar – was also present, along with some electric conversions.
The original Tesla Semi Truck was due to be launched this year, but Tesla decided to push that date in favour of bringing the model Y to market. Tesla has now said its semi-truck is expected to hit roads sometime late this year/early next.
