Beyoncé lost an Emmy to James Corden and the internet is not happy
The 71st Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards took place this week, and if you were annoyed by all the accolades Game of Thrones bagged, James Corden winning an Emmy over Beyoncé might push you over the edge.
Beyoncé’s loyal and numerous fanbase, the Beyhive isn’t happy right now as the performer’s Netflix film ‘Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé’; showing the behind-the-scenes footage of her Coachella 2018 performance, lost out on an Emmy to none other than James Corden and his 'Carpool Karaoke'.
The film, gives an inside look into her two headlining performances, was released in April and was nominated in six categories:
Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded), Outstanding Production Design (Variety Special), Outstanding Music Direction, Outstanding Writing (Variety Special), Outstanding Costumes (Variety/Nonfiction/Reality), and Outstanding Directing (Variety Special).
The project received a grand total of zero awards, but it’s the Outstanding Variety Special award her fans are most furious about.
Carpool Karaoke: When Corden Met McCartney also won Best Technical Direction. It followed James Corden and Beatles legend Paul McCartney singing in a car, presumed by Beyhivers to be filmed with a GoPro or phone on a dashboard.

Homecoming on the other hand documents the Coachella performance. It’s reported the performance took over 115 days of rehearsal, with some days requiring more than 11 hours of practicing. Over 100 different people needed to be trained and Beyoncé adhered to a strict diet following the birth of twins.
The Netflix film captured the entire performance, and the cameraman himself, Ben Hagarty chimed in on the difficulty of the filming process.
I held a heavy ass camera and walked backwards keeping these 3 legends in frame while dave held a carabiner on my pants to guide me...
Oh and I did it going down a set of stairs
RT if u would give us an Emmy at least pic.twitter.com/n6peKdrYQF— BenRealVsWorld (@BenRealVsWorld) September 15, 2019
So @davemalave would guide me backwards so i didn’t fall off the runway. He would tap 3 times on my right hip when we were 10 feet from turning..
Then he would tap non stop when we were 2 feet from turning.
That’s a system. pic.twitter.com/cqZUHinTDU— BenRealVsWorld (@BenRealVsWorld) September 15, 2019
You can check out some of the other outraged tweets below:
Beyoncé spent 8 hours EVERY SINGLE DAY for 8 MONTHS right after nearly dying giving birth to TWINS rehearsing, breast-fed in between breaks, spent hours anazlying costumes & set list, training 100 dancers, & put her heart and soul on stage in a desert to lose to a carpool show. https://t.co/wF87gj896V— Aaliyah (@IvyLegion) September 15, 2019
James Corden is a perfectly lovely human being. I enjoy Carpool Karaoke. It's a good bit.
HOMECOMING, on the other hand, is seminal. It is timeless. It is exhaustive and original.
This really, really bothers me.— Soraya Nadia McDonald (@SorayaMcDonald) September 15, 2019
