Apex Legends starts Voidwalker event, sees map changes
The world’s biggest FPS Battle Royale game has kicked off its second in-game event. ‘Voidwalker’ will follow one of the game’s most popular character, Wraith.
The limited-time game mode sees a temporary map makeover and exclusive event challenges for the next two weeks.
It runs until the 17th of September and revolves around Wraith, the nimble character which lets her open up portals between one point and another.
Leading up to the event, developer Respawn Entertainment unveiled an eight-minute animated short that sees Wraith infiltrating a high0-tech compound, before rescuing a version of herself.
The new game mode effectively turns the map King’s Canyon into The Upside Down, and lets gamers explore parts of the abandoned research facility that links ground and sky through a new portal.
Other game modes include ‘Armed and Dangerous’, which limits players to just shotguns or sniper rifles.
This is the second in-game event after last-year’s Legendary Hunt in June. Season 2 of Apex Legends ends on September 30.
The launch also saw the second official 'stories from the outlands' cinematic trailer, featuring the one and only Wraith. you can watch it below:
