COS unveils ‘Restore’ collection made from damaged clothes

Fashion brand COS is breathing new life into damaged garments with a new collection called ‘Restore’.
The clothing brand – which is part of the H&M Group – worked with The Renewal Workshop to launch the new collection, a line of clothes sourced from H&M’s supply chain, or returned clothes by shoppers.
The pieces were then cleaned and repaired using waterless technology by The Renewal Workshop and then returned to COS to re-make them in new styles.
"The 'Restore' collection is an important test to stretch our thinking around new Business Models for a Circular Economy," said Laura Coppen, Circular/Sustainable Business Development at The Laboratory, H&M Group, in a statement on the H&M site.
"We have a big responsibility with the scale and impact we currently have on the environment, and this test is one example of many where we are exploring new solutions."
The ‘Restore’ collection goes on sale on September 4, in Berlin, Stockholm and Utrecht. It’s just one of several sustainability initiatives from H&M Group, including brands such as Cos, Monki, Monday and more.
In April, the group announced that 57 per cent of the materials are either recycled of sustainably sourced fibres and in June it backed green transport initiatives for staff.
