Adidas unveil MYSHELTER collection of urban jackets
Adidas Outerwear has unveiled the MYSHELTER collection, developed using feedback drawn from those who live in cities with very specific weather conditions.
The boffs at Adidas polled those who live in London, New York, Shanghai and Tokyo, then custom-built jackets to protect against those specific elements. The result is a range of technical outerwear which combines weather protection in their own sleek, urban style.
The first release from the brand new MYSHELTER collection is a rain jacket which, admittedly, won’t get much use in our sunny climes but doesn’t look too shabby. The yellow jacket features a seam-sealed construction, which keeps out rain, but has a built-in breathable membrane to avoid trapping body heat.
It has been designed to be lightweight and folds down when travelling. There’s a black reflective logo on the back, as well as a that highly-visible yellow – making it ideal for commuters.
Adidas hopes to encourage a new generation of city-dwellers to get active outside, no matter the weather. According to Tim Janaway, General Manager of Adidas Outdoor, "With MYSHELTER, we want to empower people to spend time outdoors. Not just in the great outdoors, but in urban environments.”
“Thanks to the latest in outdoor technology, the MYSHELTER Rain Jacket allows our creators to be creative outdoors living their lives, no matter the weather. MYSHELTER encourages them to explore and keeps them protected and comfortable."
The MYSHELTER jacket will drop on September 2, on adidas.com
