David Benioff and Dan Weiss have signed a huge deal with Netflix

Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss have signed a multi-year deal to write and produce a new series of Netflix.
This comes off the back of a disappointing final season of Game of Thrones, which has led to more than 100,000 fans signing a petition to have the final run of the series re-made.
That said, Game of Thrones did destroy all known records for audience numbers for a television show and has won more Emmys than any other fictional show.
In a statement, Benioff and Weiss said they were happy to be working with Netflix. In a statement, Ted Sarandos – Netflix’s chief content officer – said they were also rather pleased to work with the showrunners, too.
"We are thrilled to welcome master storytellers David Benioff and Dan Weiss to Netflix,"
"They are a creative force and have delighted audiences worldwide with their epic storytelling. We can't wait to see what their imaginations will bring to our members."
According to rumours, the pair auctioned their next production concept between studios. Apparently, Netflix won the bidding war after a ‘nine-figure deal’ was promised.
Netflix has paid upwards of US$100-million before, to mega-producers Ryan Murphy (the man behind Glee) and Shonda Rhimes (Grey’s Anatomy).
"We've had a beautiful run with HBO for more than a decade, and we're grateful to everyone there for always making us feel at home,” said Benioff and Weiss in a statement.
"Netflix has built something astounding and unprecedented, and we're honoured they invited us to join them," they added.
