Google Fit now handles sleep tracking

Google Fit has learned a new trick: sleep tracking.
Google’s exercise and fitness tracker app already chart your daily physical activity, but now it’s also looking at your nightly sleeping patterns.
Google Fit’s product manager, Defne Gurel announced that Google Fit can now analyse your sleep. Previously, you could connect a separate sleep-tracking device that would give you nightly reports, however with the new Google Fit, “you'll see charts that show you your sleep patterns over time”.
In addition to accessing these sleep reports, Google made Google Fit more nighttime friendly by adding a dark theme to save both battery life and eye strain.
Both features will be rolled out to Google Fit apps on iTunes and Android over the coming weeks.
