The Simpsons will enter the Stranger Things universe for 666th episode
The Simpsons is having its 30th instalment of the Treehouse of Horror spin-offs, an annual Halloween episode. This time though, it’s going to take after Stranger Things with Lisa as Eleven.
Feel old yet? Yep, there are 29 Halloween episodes of The Simpsons, understandably then the 30th is going to be a big one.
For its 666th episode ever – can you believe there’s ‘THAT’ much Simpsons? – The cartoon is entering the Stranger Things universe with each character becoming a Stranger Things character.
Things get “strange” with this mini poster for @TheSimpsons and their annual Treehouse of Horror episode. This year’s design, honoring the 666th episode of the series, Treehouse of Horror XXX, features homages to both Stranger Things and The Shape of Water. pic.twitter.com/CxqUUGR5Xr— ScarePop (@ScarePop) July 10, 2019
It features Lisa as Eleven, Chief Wiggum as Hopper, Martin as Lucas, Bart as Mike, and Nelson as Dustin.
The Treehouse of Horror episodes have always been fan favourites, they’re where the creators let their hair down and do even more crazy plots such as this Stranger Things crossover. Our favourite will still be way back in 1999, Treehouse of Horror 10 where Ned Flanders becomes a werewolf.
Some of its past episodes have parodied Coraline, The Exorcist, Jurassic Park and Die Hard
The poster given seems to be a rendition of the Stranger Things 1 poster. There’s also going to be a Shape of Water parody, seen as Selma Bouvier is embracing Kang or Kodos.
Also on the poster it reads, "Episode 666—as we planned from the beginning."
Treehouse of Horror XXX will premiere October 20th.
