USA Women’s World Cup kit breaks Nike sales record

With the final is still to be played, we can catagorically declare that the Women's football World Cup in France has been a success. That's certainly true for sportswear giant, Nike, who has announced that it has sold more USA home kits on its website than it has of any other soccer team's shirt in a single season.
Step aside Brazil and Barcelona, the US women's team's strong showing at the World Cup has fueled record sales, making it the number one football kit, men's or women's, ever sold on Nike.com
The figures emphasise the rise in the popularity of the women’s game globally, with Nike also becoming the biggest seller of bras in Northern America for the first time in the brand’s history, as well as increasing wholesale revenues in the women’s segment by 11%, up to about $7.4 billion this year.
