Cyberpunk 2077 studio is working on multiplayer
CD Project Red is pulling out all the stops for Cyberpunk 2077.
It has apparently re-tasked three teams (some of which were already working on The Witcher) to work on new Cyberpunk projects, including one that will turn out to be a multiplayer mode.
It’s not known whether or not this multiplayer mode will be available at launch, or if it will come after (similar to how Grand Theft Auto 5 did it).
Cyberpunk 2077 is a blockbuster game in the making and is already being put in the same league as Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption. It certainly boasts the Hollywood cast, with Keanu Reeves coming aboard as one of the game’s protagonists.
The game was originally slated as a single player, sci-fi adventure – one that takes place in a dystopian future metropolis Night City, and its surroundings.
Cyberpunk 2077 certainly got the attention of the gaming elite at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (the world’s largest gaming extravaganza). Not only did Keanu Reeves take to the stage to announce that he was joining the game, but CD Projekt Red showed off an in-game demo that looked gorgeous.
The studio is expected to show off yet more footage of the game, including a potentially playable demo during Gamescom, in Germany this August.
