There's a 'free fine dining experience for beautiful people' planned for Middle East
- Instagram service allow models percieved by them as 'beautiful' to eat at restaurants for free
- Criteria for people to get on the platform is to have a big social media following and be represented by a modelling agency
- The founder in now planning to expand in the Middle East
If you think the world has reached peak pretentious levels, then think again. There's now a new initiative that provides models with free meals to help boost the “ambiance” of restaurants is planning an expansion to the Middle East, according to its founder.
The ‘Model Restaurant’ initiative was created by millennial 29-year old Italian entrepreneur Giovanbattista Cimmino.
To use the service, models sign up by following the @ModelRestaurant page on Instagram – which is set to private – and then sending a direct message with their location.
Cimmino told Arabian Business that the initiative plans to expand to the Middle East region this year.
“With Model Restaurant we are planning to enter the Middle East market by offering our services by the end of 2019,” he said. “The Middle East market is one of the most important and [influential] in the world.”
But not just any 'beautiful' person can get on this platform. Cimmino has said that the models must already have a substantial following on Instagram and be represented by a modelling agency.
Remember a time when people at restaurants were just people at restaurants? Yeah, not anymore.
