Chadwick Boseman champions cords at Netflix premiere
- Chadwick Boseman continues to prove that stylish risks do pay off
- The Black Panther star appeared at The Black Godfather premiere wearing bright red cords
- The star is quickly becoming a fashion icon, with brands such as Givenchy, Prada and Zegna all lining up to work with him
Ryan Reynolds thinks Chadwick Boseman dresses like no other.
He even told us so. And we tend to agree. For his latest move at the premiere of The Black Godfather cemented the actor as Hollywood's risk-taker-in-chief - in the style stakes, anyway - and it's a title that's paid off.
After a slew of big statements, (Givenchy sequins at the Oscars, and print clashes at Hollywood Reporter events) the 41-year-old scored another hit. This time, in co-ords: a move championed amongst the casual-tailoring circles of Oliver Spencer and friends. What separates Boseman from the rest however, is the choice of a fire engine red colour. A shade that gives him a disco inferno superhero look.
Which is good news. It's proof that, with the right amount of confidence (and, probably, the right stylist), risks can pay off. Boseman has made a red carpet career out of it.
And anyone can replicate, too, providing the right tone is set. If a red hot co-ord isn't quite to your taste, dial down with emerald green, navy, even grey: getting match happy is statement enough alone.
Boseman pushes the boundary, and he'll continue to do so. And with every rule-breaking, risk-taking outfit, the menswear benchmark is pushed even further. Now, we see men in origami tuxedos, bright pink tailoring, even black tie ballgowns. You can partly thank Boseman (and this particular outfit from Ermenegildo Zegna XXX).
