Jason Derulo playing two gigs in Dubai this week
Jason Derulo is back in Dubai and is set to perform not one but two gigs during his time in the city.
The last time the singer was in town he performed in Saudi Arabia and posed for a very special cover shoot for yours truly.
The singer is performing on Friday and Saturday night this week in Meydan. On Friday, March 8, he’ll be performing at Drai’s Dubai, with the nightclub hosting him late on into the evening (the club is open until 4am, with most acts coming on around 1am). Early bird tickets will set ladies Dhs100 (with one drink included), and Dhs300 for gents (two drinks included) – with tickets available via Virgin Megastores.
On Saturday March 9, he’ll be at White Dubai at the Meydan Racecourse Grandstand. Again, it’ll be a late performance, with the club open from 11pm until 4am. Tickets will soon be available at Virgin Megastores.
Born in Florida to Haitian parents, Jason Joel Desrouleaux began dancing as a pre-schooler, inspired by Michael Jackson and MC Hammer. He started singing at an early age, attending performing arts schools and took some early stabs at music composition, writing his first song at the age of eight. His writing skills began attracting attention, and by his teenage years, he had begun composing tracks for artists like Lil Wayne, Pitbull and Pleasure P.
In December, the singer told Esquire Middle East during his cover shoot: “I love fashion. It is the only form of exterior expression that we have. When you walk into a room, you can say who you are without even saying anything,” he explains. “If you look good, then you feel good, and people can read that on you just by looking at you.”
