The Jonas Brothers' new video marks their return with Priyanka Chopra and Sansa Stark
Sometimes the best part of being an adult is that occasional joyful moment, when you find a grown up version of something you loved as a kid and can happily revel in it. That’s what the Jonas Brothers return feels like—at least after watching the video for their newest single “Sucker.” The boozy milkshake of boy bands are back with rabbits and their wives and it’s actually much better than I ever expected it to be.
The single itself feels a bit like if the Joe Jonas-led DNCE combined its recent style with Jonas Brothers vibes of the past. While that sounds, well, obvious, what makes that combination all the more interesting is that in the era of revamps and reboots, it would have been easy to hit the expected notes. But the Jonas Brothers feel grown up without losing their boy band charm. In the end, “Sucker” is a banger.
The video, which dropped at Midnight on Friday, feels like a remix of Marie Antoinette and The Favourite. Featuring Priyanka Chopra, Sophie Turner, and Danielle Jonas, the whole video is wealth to the nth degree. You want rabbits everywhere? They got you. You want Sansa Stark in an outdoor bathtub? Got that too. An 18th century palace sets the tone for the band’s big return.
The public response seems to align with the same sentiment - "We're not mad. Just surprised."
All of that is to say that if the Jonas Brothers’ return looks anything like the glimpse we’ve gotten into their stylish, dark pop future, then it’s fair to say that it’s more then fine to indulge. Grab a drink and turn up the volume. The Brothers will do the rest.
