Pierce Brosnan in a thobe atop a camel in Dubai is way too cool
17 years on after James Bond, Pierce Brosnan is still just as suave and charming as ever. He's got even cooler in the years since playing the 007 agent.
Currently filming a new movie ‘The Misfits’ in Dubai, he shared a photo of himself in dressed in a thobe and riding a camel. Set mostly in the Middle East, The Misfits, scripted by Robert Henny, follows the story of criminal Richard Pace, who finds himself caught up in an elaborate gold heist that promises to have far-reaching implications.
Brosnan also shared videos of the Louvre Abu Dhabi on his Instagram, describing it as “a masterpiece of design".
He also posted his "room with a view", sharing a shot from his suite with his 970,000 followers. It is believed Brosnan and the rest of ‘The Misfits’ cast are staying at Jumeirah at Etihad Towers, which has already been confirmed as one of the shoot locations.
Jamie Chung and British actress Hermione Corfield will also appear in the film.
However Pierce Brosnan, the one Bond actor who, it seems, didn't get the choice of when to exit the role.
Esquire Uk reports:
Although Die Another Day was a critical misfire, it was – at the time – the highest-grossing Bond movie yet, so it seemed likely that Brosnan would return for a fifth role – and he certainly seemed up for it.
However, according to an interview in Bond book Some Kind of Hero: The Remarkable Story of the James Bond Films, negotiations over a fifth outing didn't go the way Brosnan wanted. He recalled being in the Bahamas working on After the Sunset when he was told that "negotiations have stopped" and that the producers weren't "quite sure what they want to do".
"Barbara [Broccoli] and Michael [Wilson] were on the line – 'We're so sorry'. She was crying, Michael was stoic and he said, 'You were a great James Bond. Thank you very much' and I said, 'Thank you very much. Goodbye.'
"That was it. I was utterly shocked and just kicked to the kerb with the way it went down."
