Apple expands in-store educational sessions in UAE
Apple wants to make it easier for people to make stuff with its products.
That’s the prevailing ethos behind Apple Sessions, the series of tutorials and how-tos for creative types, that go on inside Apple’s flagship boutiques.
Earlier today, Apple announced that it was expanding the series, now to include three new formats – skills, walks and labs. Each offers tutorials on photography, video, music, coding, app development, art, design and more.
The new sessions are totally free for those who can walk in to an Apple Store. The best bit; Apple is teaming up with well-known content creators worldwide.
Skills are workshops designed to teach Apple hopefuls how to use their gear. The focus is on product features and software knowledge, and how to get the most out of your machine.
Walks are about just that; walking. Getting out of the Apple store with a session host, and using your kit in the great outdoors (think iPhone photography classes).
Finally, labs go a bit deeper – they help participants create their own projects, and are often co-created by well-known musicians, artists and developers. For example, Apple’s latest video tutorial was put together with help from YouTube’s Zach King – teaching participants how to create a jump cut using Apple’s Clips app.
Attending Today at Apple sessions is a simple process. Each of the three formats of skills, walks and labs are available for six categories: photography, videography, music, coding, apps, art and design.
They are completely free. Just register online prior to the session at your local Apple Store or, if you swing by one and there’s a Session already happening, you can just sit in (if there’s space available).
