Dubai is one of the world's best places to live
"365 days of sun, in a tax-free, coastal city of Dubai" is probably what peaked everyone's interest when they first started thinking about living the expat life. While the change in weekend days and the searing summer months did take some getting used to, expats living here have been validated.
Dubai has now been ranked one of the world's best places to live, according to a new study, and rightly so.
The emirate is rated higher than other destinations including long time expat destinations, such as San Francisco, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Sydney and Madrid.
Researchers at Resonance Consultancy placed the emirate at ninth globally, praising the good quality of live and pleasant environment.
The city's ever changing facade keeps things new and interesting for residents living here and the study added: "The emirate comes in at #2 in the world in our Place category, for which we look at influential factors like crime rate, neighbourhoods and landmarks, weather and parks and outdoor activities.
"You could ride the elevator to the top of world’s tallest building for a bird’s eye view. You could attend the world’s richest horse race or pose for photos in front of the world’s tallest choreographed fountains. You could check into the world’s only seven-star property or shop in the largest mall on the planet."
