H. Moser & Cie unveils ultimate ‘smart’ watch
H. Moser & Cie are the cheeky little scamps of the watch world.
Two years ago it introduced a watch made entirely out of Swiss cheese, and earlier this year it pulled the wraps of a living, breathing watch (made out of Swiss flora and fauna). But at this year’s SIHH 2019 it did one better (and poked fun at the world’s most valuable tech company at the same time).
H. Moser has updated its Swiss Alp Watch – which was a mechanical two-hander that already looked suspiciously like an Apple Watch – where the hands are replaced by a flying tourbillon. Other than that, the face is blank (much like an Apple Watch minus the battery).
Instead of relying on the face of the watch, wearers must rely on their ears to tell the time. Pull the slide on the side and the hand-wound minute repeater will melodically ping out the hours, quarters and minutes for you.
