New 2019 Lincoln Continental has rear-opening doors
Back in 1961, Ford decided to spend some time and attention on its then little-known luxury division called Lincoln.
It cut the entire slate of vehicle types down to one, the Continental, and made it available in four-door sedan and convertible variations. Ford decided that quality would be paramount, and each car went through rigorous quality control measures before leaving the factors. The rest is history.
Marking the 80th anniversary of the Continental's introduction back in 1939, Lincoln has launched its 80th Anniversary Edition of the luxury motor. The most striking feature is the rear-opening suicide doors. The interior has been given an upgrade in both detail and technology, and it packs a twin-turbocharged 3-litre V6 engine (400-horsepower) under the hood.
The 80th-anniversary edition is available for pre-order at all good Lincoln Black Label dealerships, with deliveries expected early in 2019.
