Stop spending all your time on Instagram, says Instagram
Sit down and remain calm. Your phone apps are conducting an intervention.
They’re just worried about you, is all. No healthy man should be able to get through that many Instagram Stories in a single toilet session.
So they’ve rolled out a new digital detox feature, seemingly against their own best interest, to loosen the photo app’s grip on your leisure time. ‘Your Activity’, first announced in August, will allow you to monitor your usage and limit the notifications you receive.
Not everyone has it just yet, but it’s only a matter of time. The dashboard, which you’ll find by clicking on the hamburger icon found at the top right of your screen, will tell you how much time you’ve spent on the app over the past week and provide a daily average.
You’ll be able to set yourself a limit, and the app will remind you when you’ve reached it. You can also tinker with your notification settings so that you aren’t constantly bothered by pointless noise (Harry hasn’t posted in a while? Good! Harry's awful!)
