Nike just made the perfect walking shoe

I've had nightmares about the "walking shoe" since I one time saw a full-grown man wearing an oversized light grey suit with neon green running sneakers.
I understood the point of it, sure. We get old and tired and everything hurts all the time. A practical sneaker might not win you best dressed at the office, but at least your plantar fasciitis stays in check! But there hadn't really been a sneaker that was actually made for the day-to-day — and didn't look like it belonged on the foot of a confused businessman. Until now.
Nike's special projects team is launching ISPA: Improvise, Scavenge, Protect, Adapt. The shoes are meant to be as functional as possible, specifically for those walking three to five miles a day. Not only are they, of course, comfortable to walk in, but they're also made to withstand urban terrain.
They're also fully waterproof, for weathering unexpected rain and accidentally stepping in questionable puddles.
The shoe—formally called the Nike REACT LW WR Mid ISPA–launches November 21, just in time for lovely winter walking weather. No word on the price yet, but if it's a shoe that acts as a sneaker and a waterproof boot, you can bet it'll be worth it. Mark your calendars.
