Well don’t crack just yet, because according to rumours circulating around gaming sites, you might finally be getting the chance to change your embarrassing old PlayStation usernames.

A fourth source has even leaked a photograph of an internal Sony document displaying the option to “edit username”, purportedly from a how-to guide for users.
The news will be welcomed by anyone who was under the age of 18 when they first chose their PlayStation Gamertags back when the network launched in 2006. Xbox Live users have always had the option of one free re-do, followed by a pay-per-change model.
Sony Interactive Chairman Shawn Lyden's alluded to the change last year, saying: "Let me put it this way: I hope we'll see events occur so that you don't have to ask me that question [about username changes] next PSX".
'Fart_Simpson', your moment of redemption is near.
