Why is Elon Musk hating on Azealia Banks now?
It all started two weeks ago, when Banks took to Instagram from Elon Musk’s Los Angeles mansion, where she says she was planning to collaborate with his musician girlfriend, Grimes.
A scheduling clash meant that Grimes couldn’t make it on the day, but her reps told Banks that she could stay at the couple’s guesthouse and wait for them, according to the New York Times.
Banks then posted several Stories on Instagram upon leaving the home on Sunday, accusing Musk of tweeting under the influence of drugs and “scrounging for investors” after tweeting that Tesla had “funding secured”, amongst other things.
At first Musk denied spending any time with Banks, but eventually admitted that the two had met at his home.
“I saw her on Friday morning, for two seconds at about a 30-foot distance as she was leaving the house,” Mr. Musk said in an interview with the New York Times.
“I’d just finished working out. She was not within hearing range. I didn’t even realize who it was. That’s literally the only time I’ve ever laid eyes on her.”
Banks shot back, posting screen grabs of an alleged private message conversation with Grimes, where they discussed the couple’s sex life as well as Musk’s business practises. Days later, Banks said that Musk had been “tapping my phone all week.”
In a since-deleted Instagram story, Banks has now accused Musk’s attorney of getting her phone confiscated.
‘Elon got an attorney involved so I called one too. They came up with all these threats of blackmail and said I had to turn in my phone if I didn't want to go to jail,' Banks wrote in the deleted post.’
'They paid my attorney off to take my phone and delete evidence. I just want my phone back with all of my quality Nudes on it, and I want to go f**king home.'
A spokesman for Musk addressed the accusations, saying: "Elon doesn’t know Azealia Banks. He doesn’t have her phone and neither do his lawyers.
