Predator is getting the reboot it deserves
This marks the 31-year anniversary since Arnold Schwarzenegger led a hunt through Central America for a lethal extraterrestrial life form.
Since then, the Predator franchise has grown to include two sequels and two crossover films with fellow sci-fi horror classic Alien. Next comes The Predator, which is being billed as a reimagining of the series.
And if this is a reimagining, The Predator has all the ingredients to do it right. The film stars Sterling K. Brown, Keegan-Michael Key, and Olivia Munn, among others. In the new trailer, this film has a more gritty edge with some secretive military intrigue. As the synopsis explains:
From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black's explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe's most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.
The Predator is due out on September 14.
