Danny McBride to helm Crocodile Dundee reboot?
Historically, “Son of [Blank]” sequels have been just god-awful.
Son of the Mask is considered one of the worst films of all time, and there’s little to say about Ace Ventura Jr: Pet Detective, except that yes, it does exist. So there’s no reason to expect that a film called Dundee: The Son of a Legend Returns Home will be anything but an abomination.
No reason but one—the fact that it stars Danny McBride.
"I’m not going to lie to you, to be a real Crocodile Dundee, I think 95% of it is the vest and then 5% is just being able to not fall down and stay on your feet,” a humble McBride told People Magazine. He's wrong, though.
The only person who could fill Paul Hogan' shoes in this utterly unnecessary sequel is the always-hilarious McBride. (Hogan himself is on board, too—he'll be appearing in the film.)
The one-minute teaser appeared rather mysteriously—little’s known about the project, which is causing folks online to speculate that the whole thing might be a joke. If so, Danny McBride needs to quit playing games with our hearts.
