Motorola gets involved in the Samsung-Apple beef, to promote its Z2 Play smartphone
Apple and Samsung have been in a tit-for-tat spat over the last few years, culminating in law-suits and attack adverts.
This past November, just days after Apple unveiled its iPhone X, Samsung came out with an ad mocking it by pointing out that Galaxy phones are at the forefront of design excellence and innovation (so says Samsung).
Apple chose to keep quiet over the ad, but that hasn't stopped Motorola from trundling in to the fray. It's just pushed out a new advert to promote its latest device, the Moto Z2 Play.
Motorola brought in the same lead actor from the Samsung ad, in what they made seem like a continuation of Samsung’s video.
The lead-actor enjoys watching a video on his new phone; moments later, his girlfriend looks at his Note 8 in disapproval. She unboxes her MotoZ2 Play and snaps an Insta-Share Projector Moto Mod on the back of it, and projects a video to the wall. The guy is mesmerized that a phone can somehow do this. Then, these words come up: 'Up-upgrade to Motorola'.
So who’s next? Blackberry? Probably not.
