My life in fitness: Michele Moro
I come from Italy where the quality of life is important. It's a combination of physical activity – walking through the streets or in the countryside – as well as traditional things, like eating. Food is really important, and an integral part of our culture.
Wellness means balance. Food for us is a pleasure, it's a way to meet up with friends and family, and Italy is of course known for its ingredients. This is also an integral part of our DNA, but that's where the balance comes in. You can't have food without physical activity.

They say that good design is a natural skill. For Italians, that comes from centuries of attention to detail and focus. Be it in design, furniture and in fashion. That's why Technogym products are so well designed.
Exercise is not easy, especially for people who are not naturally sport-orientated. It's for those people that we designed our products to look so visually appealing. We want people to want to exercise, not think of it as a chore.
The UAE is a very strategic market for us. We've actually had a direct connection between Technogym and the UAE for more than ten years. That's why the Dubai Fitness Challenge was such a natural partnership, in the sense that we had a digital solution – one that we already used in the Olympic Games – which people can use to get involved.
When you think about it, we've been promoting exercise for the past 34 years. The Dubai Fitness Challenge is about exercising for 30 minutes for 30 consecutive days. It's a perfect match.
In Italy we have a saying, "there's nothing more valuable than your own health". You may have all the money in the world, but if you don't have good health you will not enjoy your life.
