Superfly GT 42 is the power boat of your dreams
Calling your boat 'Superfly' is a tad presumptuous, but in the case of the GT 42 we might just forgive its designers – Red Yacht Design – for the sensational name.
The boat will be officially launched at the Cannes Yachting Festival and includes a sci-fi inspired helm station, fully-enclosed cockpit and 1,880-horsepower engines. While it's designed by Red Yacht Design, it's Flying Flipper – a Swedish firm – who will build it.
The cockpit is a cocoon of glass, with a tall windshield that extends all the way to the back of the boat. The sci-fi control panel features a rectangular wheel, gearshifts and throttles that extend outward around the driver's legs (as opposed to being controlled via the hand). There are a bevvy of sizeable touchscreens that control everything from navigation to lighting.
There is an aft stateroom that is connected to the cockpit via a glass door. Inside lies a king-size bed, skylight, and two rear windows that wouldn't look out of place in an episode of Star Trek. Two V-shaped side panels offer guests side views of the ocean as the boat zips through the surf.
The Superfly GT 42 has a few engine options. However the most powerful includes multiple Mercury Racing outboard motors and just over 1,880 horsepower. At top spec, the boat will hit speeds of 65 knots, making it one of the quickest yachts on the water.
