Kermit the Frog has got a brand-new voice
Whenever a beloved character has their actor replaced it can often makes or break that character's future success. Even more so when that character has a voice that's so distinctly recognisable.
Thankfully it seems that Matt Vogel, only the third person to ever be presented with the task of voicing Kermit the Frog, won't be doing everyone's favourite frog a disservice.
Uploading a 'Muppets Thought of the Week' video to YouTube that features wisdom from Miss Piggy's main squeeze, this was our first chance to hear what Vogel sounds like in the role. Stepping in after longtime puppeteer Steve Whitmire parted ways with the House of Mouse after supposedly making "outrageous demands", Vogel has some pretty large, webbed shoes to fill.
Hardly an untested amateur, Vogel's appointment seems fitting when considering the wealth of experience the puppeteer had performing as Count von Count and the understudy for Big Bird on the beloved television show Sesame Street. Whilst lifelong Muppets fans might need some time to adjust to this change in personnel, we're confident that Vogel will be able to do justice to the legacy of Jim Henson's most iconic creation.
