The Bouchon Bakery is coming to Dubai
For the sake of your own sanity it’s probably best that anyone on a low-carb diet stops reading this now. No, really. We mean it...
Right, now that we've successfully singled out all you wonderful carbohydrate lovers out there we can delightfully inform you that acclaimed chef Thomas Keller is set to launch one of his world-famous Bouchon Bakeries in Dubai this year. As the first of three Bouchon Bakeries outside the United States, this bakery is scheduled to open its doors in JBR; however, those of you from elsewhere in the Middle East need not panic as franchises are also planned for Kuwait and an array of other GCC countries.
For those of you who aren't in-the-know about what Bouchon Bakery is all about: Thomas Keller, the award-winning American chef, restaurateur, cookbook author, and all-around food guru first opened up the Bouchon Bakery back in July 2003 as a place that would foster community and provide one-of-a-kind breads in Yountville, California. Since then, the bakery has quickly blossomed beyond the Napa Valley into a must-visit location for any foodies not afraid of a little gluten.
The first and only American chef to have been awarded three simultaneous star Michelin ratings for two different restaurants, Keller currently holds a whopping seven Michelin stars: three at Per Se, three at The French Laundry, and one at Bouchon Bistro. Needless to say, this is just the sort of man you want making your bread.
With outlets throughout the United States, Keller’s bakeries emulate the atmosphere of a classic French boulangerie and offer a wide selection of artisanal breads and classic desserts inspired by Chef Keller’s childhood memories and his own first-hand experience of Parisian cuisine. Featuring an array of culinary delights spanning from classic viennoiserie, such as croissants and pain au chocolat, to an ever-changing selection of tarts, cookies, sandwiches, quiche, soups, salads, and breakfast items, the Bouchon Bakery isn’t the sort of place you’d host a Weight Watchers meeting, Though it is the sort of location we’d like to see our office meetings relocated.
Hoping to make the Bouchon Bakery an “outstanding destination for our Middle East guests and visitors alike,” Thomas Keller is keen to bring his signature craftsmanship (and delicate croissants) to the Middle East.
