What to do in February 2017
It may be the shortest month, but that just means that you have less time to get everything crammed into it. Here are a few event to get started with:
Jan 31 to Feb 4
The Dubai Tour
Four-wheels bad. Two-wheels good. Well, that’s the case this month with the return of the world’s very best road cyclists for The Dubai Tour. It’s surprisingly good fun to watch, too.
Feb 2 to Feb 5
Omega Dubai Desert Classic
The Tiger is on the prowl in the desert again, with the 14-time major champ leading an impressive field in one of the most open Desert Classics in recent memory. Need convincing? Click here! Fancy the chance to win free tickets? Click here!
Feb 20 to Mar 4
Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships
In a major coup for the city, world number one (Sir) Andy Murray will be joining the ranks at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, having missed the event in recent years. Expect fireworks as he is also joined by seven-time winner Roger Federer and defending champion Stan Wawrinka.
Feb 22 to 24
Dubai Jazz Festival
The tired complaints about it not being ‘jazz’ enough fall on deaf ears, as we’re already tuning into the back catalogues from this year’s mega line-up of Tom Jones, Mariah Carey and Enrique Iglesias.
Feb 14 to 18
West Side Story
Continuing its stellar run since opening last summer, Dubai Opera welcomes the smash Bernstein/Sondheim musical West Side Story to its boards. Crammed with tunes that you never realised you knew all the words to, and featuring Jerome Robbins’ original choreography, this is perfect way to spend ‘date night’.
