Gin at the Esquire Drinks Club
Despite World Gin Day having already passed us on June 11, there’s no reason why you can’t still find yourself an excuse to indulge in the distilled spirit famous for turning tonic water into something infinitely more quaffable. In fact, here’s a ready-made excuse: made from the berries of the Juniper tree, gin was originally intended to be consumed for its medicinal qualities. Which means in certain quantities, gin is actually good for you. So think of that ice cold G&T as doing your body a much needed favour, especially after a long week at work.
Though its distinct botanical flavour may turn a few people off, it’s within the marvellous realms of a cocktail where gin can really work its wonders, with the Cocktail Kitchen’s latest instalment of the Esquire Club showcasing the successful reboot of a once staid drink.
Building on the success of the previous Tequila tasting experience, the Cocktail Kitchen is hosting an evening of education to prove to you that there’s more to a gin cocktail than a splash of Hendrick’s and a slice of cucumber.
This event is the third in the series of drinks' masterclasses, which take place on a monthly basis, with each event focussing on a different tipple and giving you to chance to learn from Cocktail Kitchen's experts. Priced at Dhs200 per person, you will be given three signature cocktails, a selection of canapés, and a 20 percent discount on your bill should you decide to stay for dinner after the classes.
