EVENT: The Ramadan Gentlemen's Evening with Aston Martin
Last night, in the spirit of the Holy month of Ramadan, Esquire Middle East, together with Aston Martin, hosted a Ramadan Gentlemen's Evening to celebrate the launch of the Aston Martin DB11.
A handpicked guest list of luxury supercar enthusiasts were invited to a private dinner at the Leila Heller Gallery in Alserkal Avenue, and witnessed the unveiling of one of the most modern cars ever produced, surrounded by a stunning installation from the Artist Afruz Amighi.
The DB11 is billed as Aston Martin’s ‘Second Century’ plan, and showcases a fresh and distinctive design that still maintains the marque’s distinctive DNA, but with pioneering aerodynamics and a potent new 5.2-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine.
Dr Andy Palmer, the global CEO has said: “This is not only the most important car that Aston Martin has launched in recent history, but also in its 103-year existence,” and the reaction of the audience, which was overwhelmingly positive, suggests that the DB11 will be the car that takes Aston Martin boldly into the future.
Here in Dubai, Neal Slade, the MENA general manager, talked the guests through details of how they can add their names to the waiting list for the DB11, after introductions by Esquire publisher Lisa Rokny and editor-in-chief Jeremy Lawrence.
But perhaps the real highlight of the evening came after a dinner of modern Arabic mezza surrounded by works from Artist Ross Bleckner, when eager guests insisted on taking turns to sit in the car, rev the engine and listen to the joyous sound of an Aston Martin engine roaring into life. It was proof, if any were needed, that the DB11 is set to be a huge success.
First deliveries of the DB11 car are scheduled to begin during the fourth quarter of 2016. For more details visit astonmartin.com
