What’s your favourite wardrobe item?
My Saint Laurent raw denim jeans — they are my second skin. You just know when a brand has nailed it.
How would you describe your style?
50 percent sophisticated, 40 percent comfortable, 10 percent daredevil.
How does your personality help reflect your style?
I take pride in what I wear and my wardrobe needs to be motivating. I’m a firm believer in positive thinking and that certainly applies to my aesthetic style. You need to make an effort, look presentable and feel confident, whether you’re training in the gym or closing a business deal in the boardroom.
What’s the best style advice you can give to our readers?
Make a statement, however subtle or loud it may be — dress to feel alive. Your clothes are how you present yourself to the world.
What’s the best style advice that you’ve ever been given?
My wife once told me to pick a classic item in a neutral colour as my base and layer on top with seasonal and less ordinary accents. Smart, casual or black tie, this is now my mantra.
How has your style changed as you’ve got a bit older?
Not a huge amount. I’ve always known what I like and what I want, which of course applies to my wardrobe as well as other life-changing decisions. You could say I’m a bit fussier with cut and quality but that’s just a coming of age thing, right?
Does your style change when you travel?
Of course! I’m a chameleon. There are certain things that complement my Dubai life — such as shades, shorts and espadrilles.
What three wardrobe items can you not live without?
My Saint Laurent jeans, my tweed Lanvin blazer and my Adidas Ultra Boosts.
