It’s snowtime!
In Ski Dubai at least as it plans to host 10 events next season consisting of a snow volleyball tournament, a fixed-wheel snow cycling championship, and more yet to be announced.
If that’s not enough for you, then the chance to go from yogi to snowgi, as snow yoga is another event planned for upcoming season.
Dubai will become the first city in Asia and the Middle East to host a snow tournament while the other events will prove to be a new experience for people in the Middle East.
In addition to these events, the 12th edition of the Ice Warrior challenge will be hosted by Ski Dubai as well as other national and international tournaments such as the UAE Alpine Ski Championship, and the UAE National Ski and Snowboard Freestyle Championship.
Along with Nasser Aman Al Rahma and Assistant Secretary General of The Council, His Excellency met with who had launched the Snowsports Academy in Dubai in tandem with UAE Skiers Academy and Ski Dubai last April.
Austrian Martin Dolezal, who launched the Snowsports Academy last year, praised the emirate’s winter sport facilities and thanked Dubai Sports Council for its continued support.
“It provides an opportunity for snow sort enthusiasts of different nationalities and age to train under the guidance of top international instructors and improve their skills” he added.
Hosting Winter Sports in the Middle East makes for a truly unique experience for Dubai and puts it on the map for future winter sporting competitions and events.
All events will be held in accordance to COVID-19 safety measures as well as being mandated by the relevant authorities.
