The Great Nutella Heist
In the hazelnut heist of the century, thieves in the town of Wittenburg, 445km north-east of Neustadt, Germany, have stolen a truck trailer containing a whopping 20 tonnes of Nutella and Kinder eggs.
This treasure trove of diabetes was believed to be taken sometime late on Saturday evening, with the authorities yet to determine whether the robbery was premeditated or not.
Officials are currently investigating into whether the case has anything to do with the theft of an empty semitrailer in Weimar that occurred over the weekend.
This isn’t Germany’s first case of high-scale Nutella thievery either, with a similarly sweet-toothed set of crooks having pilfered five tonnes of the spread (worth approximately Dhs66,00) back in 2013.
We’re not certain what exactly these thieves are going to do with 20 tonnes of Nutella, but if you do know the whereabouts of a white Schmitz trailer with the license plate HEF-AA 687, please do let us know. So we can tell the authorities, obviously…
