Watch the trailer for: Blade Runner 2049
When it comes to Sci-Fi, the original Blade Runner film sits comfortably at the genre's top table. The 1982, Ridley Scott-directed, Harrison Ford vehicle based of the seminal work of science fiction guru Philip K. Dick, is not only a master of its genre but also a film that belongs on cinema's "Must Watch" film lists. The idea of a revamped sequel? We're game.
Looking to tread lightly on the much-loved original, Blade Runner 2049 takes place 30 years after the events of the first film where a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what's left of society into chaos. His discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former blade runner who's been missing for 30 years.
If the new trailer is anything to go by, the feel and plot from executive producer Ridley Scott and director Denis Villeneuve (Arrival) will have die-hard Sci-Fi fans counting down the days until its October 6, 2017, release.
